The subscribe link adds one setting to your channel address
YouTube reads sub_confirmation=1 on the end of a channel link and opens its own Subscribe box over the channel page. This page adds it for you:
https://www.youtube.com/@yourchannel?sub_confirmation=1
Paste your @handle, or any address of your channel page. Old channel addresses that start with /channel/, /c/ or /user/ work too. Nothing is sent to YouTube, and the page does not check that the channel exists.
The visitor still decides whether to subscribe
The link only asks. The visitor sees the Subscribe box and presses Subscribe or Cancel. Visitors who are not signed in to YouTube are asked to sign in first.
On a phone, the link may open the YouTube app instead of the browser. The app can show the channel without the box, and the visitor then presses the normal Subscribe button. Test the link on your own phone before you print it.
Put it where people already want more from you
- Video descriptions and pinned comments. "Subscribe here" with the link does more than "please subscribe".
- Emails, newsletters and your website. One click opens the box, without a search for your channel.
- Talks, events and packaging. Print the QR code, so people can subscribe from their seat.
To share a single video, see the YouTube link shortener. To start a video at a set moment, use the YouTube timestamp link generator.
Shorten it when you want to count who opened it
Press Shorten it to save the subscribe link as a zip1.io address. The custom ending, the part after zip1.io/, is optional. Use letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores, up to 12 characters. Leave it blank and zip1.io chooses an ending.
After you shorten, you can switch the QR code to the short link, and each scan that opens it counts as a click. A click means someone opened the link. It is not a new subscriber, and zip1.io cannot see who subscribed.
The stats page shows country, browser, operating system and referring site, and the time of the last click. Anyone with the short link can open its stats. Visitor IP addresses are stored to count unique visitors. They are never shown on the stats page or included in the export. Read more on click tracking.

Visitor IP addresses are stored to count unique visitors. They are never shown on the stats page or included in the export.
